LITTLE THINGS BIG DIFFERNCE

 

We're in Phase 1 ya'll and you are rocking it! What is Phase 1? It's the part of the plan where we say, "Hey you got to start somewhere." So these are our goals for the future in regard to The Hub.

 

1. Clean up & remove debris. (Nearly there!)

2. Fix Roof (Did you know we've received a generous donation of $14,000?)

3. Replace or Fix Windows.

4. Remove cement floors in lockerrooms and beneath stage.

5. Replace Basketball subfloor and decking.

6. Install minimal Electrical, Plumbing and Lighting fixtures.

 

These goals help us reach a point with The Hub where it is at least usable for all groups at some level. Do we want to do more? TOTALLY. We're sticking with a Kansas Size plan but taking it a few steps at a time.

 

Can you believe two years ago you could hardly see the building because of trees and scrap metal. It was hardly a year ago and the whole building was still full of stuff? Today the building is nearly bare in the basement, upstairs, locker rooms and kitchen gutted with just two small storage rooms to be cleaned out and the stage to be decronstructed. You are to be commended. Some said it would take forever, others said it was a waste and yet so many more have been encouraged and blown away by your progress as you've pulled together and worked hand in hand through some pretty gross and crazy things (remember that old freezer we punctured with the skid loader? OR Bill Brown actually sharing BLOOD, sweat and tears?) And a few weeks ago we turned in our final draft of the KAN Step Pre-App. All along though its been you doing little things and taking little steps that has gotten us where we are today!
